JICA abe initiative program
Hi, I am Okami, Human Resources Developing Team of 8Gear. We consider Human Resources is the key to success in business, thus we positively participate in the programs run by JICA in order to get acquainted to talented non-Japanese personnel. Today, I would like to share the news when we joined one of the JICA ABE Initiative Programs.
What is ABE Initiative?
African Business Education Initiative for Youth. This program offers opportunities for young and eligible African men and women to study at Master's courses in Japanese universities as international students and to experience internships at Japanese enterprises in order to develop effective skills and knowledge in various fields for contributing the development of industries in Africa.

The business MeetingOpening Greeting
The Business meeting started with a declaration by JICA, wishing on a better development and understanding on each other.
Company Introduction
The 36 Japanese companies introduced themselves to the participants. When Oscar introduced himself as the only dark-colored Japanese on the stage, the participants seemed quite interested in him and tried to listen to what he was saying. It was very clear 8Gear drew attention of all the students."
The Business Meeting
As soon as the meeting started, Oscar found himself surrounded by the participants from all over Africa. They seemed quite interested in what we do, and asked for his business card and company brochure. Sales Manager and I also exchanged business cards with many of them. The meeting went on for 90 minutes but it seemed to us like only a few minutes. We were grateful to know so many African people were interested in 8Gear.
After the meeting
There were two especially interested participants from Uganda who wished to come see our office before they had to leave the next day for their universities. After the meeting, we welcomed them in and did a quick office tour and introduced them to our team.
Perhaps they had an ordinary used vehicle dealer site in their mind. When they were invited into 8Gear office, they seemed startled to see so many people working in a large facility.
As I saw the Ugandan students listen and discuss so eagerly with our personnel, I remembered the curiosity and eagerness I had when I was a new graduate… A long time ago.
8Gear is focused on human resources. We will hire more talented, various valued personnel from more countries and regions. We believe this will help us grow ourselves into a better team with advanced services and quality. Please keep an eye on us and watch us grow.
Thank you always for your support!
