Business trip to Dubai -United Arab Emirates-
Hi, everyone! My name is Suzuki, I joined Nentrys in April 2016 as one of the new graduates. Currently I am busy learning about our business and trucks. Today, I'd like to share you about my business trip to UAE, as a part of "New Graduate Project 2016".
What is "New Graduate Project 2016"?
The new graduates' training includes a special mission program that lasts for about 6 weeks, after we learn on the basic knowledge. In the mission, we must plan, do, check, and take action to achieve the goals that were given in the beginning of the mission.
This year, there were 16 of us new graduates in the company. We were parted in 4 teams, and I was assigned in Team A. The mission goal for our team was to "obtain inquiries from customers in foreign countries" and my first mission to achieve the goal was to "Visit Dubai, inspect the market, and explore for clues to archive the goal".Member of the Business Trip

Nishiyama, New GraduateDay 1 : May 7th Visit to the Sharjah Market
Took us almost 11 hours to fly from Tokyo to Dubai. We visited Sharjah Market on the first day. This was the first time ever for us to explore the used car market. We were overwhelmed to see lines of Japanese used vehicles in Sharjah market.
I was so lucky to find someone who inquired about our stock. I am only sorry my knowledge was too poor to introduce the stock condition to the detail, nor lead the negotiation to success.
Well, tomorrow will be another day. Nishiyama and I decided to focus on making suggestion from our stock. We worked on the expression of how to introduce 8Gear, and also picked up and made a list of the vehicles likely to be poplar in the local market.
Day 2 : May 8th Visit and Sales at the DUCAMZ(Dubai cars and automotive zone)
Nishiyama and I visited the free zone the next day. Most of the vehicles displayed in front of the tenants were Japanese. Although we were already aware of the fact, seeing the needs for Japanese vehicles with my own eyes made me realize how large the business is that we are handling.
I must admit we were there at the wrong time because many stores were closed for ramadan. People told us it is not the right time for business, and I was not a well-trained sales person. We only had one day left of our stay, so decided to promote 8Gear to as many people as we could meet.
Day 3 : May 9th Promotion of 8Gear at Dubai Trade Port
On the final day, we visited the Dubai trade port. So many people were interested in us and asked to exchange WhatsApp accounts. We tried to introduce 8Gear in simple and honest way, so we managed to make ourselves understood to the local people.
The mission for our team is to obtain inquiries. By advertising 8Gear during the stay, I think we prepared well for getting one in the near future.
After the Business Trip
We had very little time to prepare, nor knowledge to advertise 8Gear. I thought only 3 days of stay in Dubai would lead to nothing, but in result we achieved the goal of getting numbers of inquiries for our products.
I had a great experience through this mission. Now I am ready to try for anything. Meet me somewhere in the world, because I will surely be the one to do business across the globe.
